FONSA was asked to contribute to schoolbags filled with stationery. These were to be given to children in the Old City of Nablus who were about to start Primary School.
The Old City is a mostly poor area with amazing stone streets and buildings but has been under attack. Its narrow streets are a maze where fighters often shelter which makes it a target for raids by the Israeli army. Such clashes are frightening and dangerous for all residents; especially for the children.
So we were happy to help these young children to have the tools they needed to start their lifelong journey in education.
It was our donors who made this possible – especially those who gave to our general fund which gave us the flexibility to respond to this worthwhile project.
