Shepherds with their flock in Yanoun

Yanoun evacuated

We are distressed to hear that Yanoun village has been forcibly evacuated. Israeli settlers and the Israeli army have blocked access to Yanoun and told the villagers to leave.

They have been here for many generations yet their land can be stolen by intimidation and force.

FONSA has helped over several years with repairs to houses and paying for education of the young people of the village.

It is too soon to say what we can do to help now but we will not forget the perseverance of the delightful farmers and community of Yanoun.

Mondoweiss has a clear account of how the village was gradually erased and finally evacuated.

Ann Farr has written movingly about the village and its evacuation
